Here’s a New Year wish for you all penned by Shirl‘s hand.
Following our usual tradition as instilled in me by my lovely mum. All bills paid so we can start the new year with no debt. Now to find the pieces of coal and silver coins to leave out for good luck. Some will say they didn’t bring much luck for 2020, my thoughts are that we kept warm and had money to buy food so they did their job. We’ll all agree that 2020 has been a trying year, a lot of people have lost loved ones far too soon. Its a sad sign of the times when we say that we have been to the local crematorium more frequently than the pub, not trying to make light of the losses just stating a fact. This time of year is always a sad time for us, so many anniversaries to get through, tonight being the 15th anniversary of losing Martin, Tonys brother, at such a young age. We will be raising a glass to those gone this year and remembering their names with love. RIP my lovelies. xx It’s time to look forward and hope that 2021 will bring us all relief from this horrible situation, that the vaccine does its job and some normality can return. Let’s not lose that sense of wanting each other rather than wanting things/stuff, if anyone has learnt anything this year, it has to be how important family and friends truly are. There will be such a ‘hugathon‘ when contact is allowed. Let’s also remember to say thank you to all the medical staff and all the other keys workers who have done a tremendous job. Let‘s not disrespect their hard work, you all know what I mean by that without having to state, Masks, distance etc etc. Keep safe, keep well, keep hopeful. Wishing every one of you a Healthy Happy New Year. xxxx
