The 1st of April is a hugely significant date for the Royal Air Force. It’s the day when the RAF was founded in 1918 as the world’s first independent air force. Today, 103 years later, we look upwards to the stars to our future, where our motto “Per Ardua Ad Astra” - Through Adversity to the Stars - rings truer than ever with the formation of the new UK Space Command at RAF High Wycombe.
