I was bought a proper book too. One with real paper pages. It's a few years since I've read one. I have over 120 on my old kindle. It has real buttons and stuff but no backlight - I'd all but forgotten how to use it. I use my iPad the most but it's not something to take on the beach.

I have a child beating stick? It's now no good to me as they tell me to go and get it so they can beat me now :whistle:

I've got the first kindle out ;)
And I use it daily :)
I was thinking of changing it to a newer one with a light :).

Its a Kindle Paperwhite - Upgraded, smaller, lighter version of my old original Kindle.
Not had chance to use it yet - trying to work out how to get it to download all my new books at least. Seems you have to choose them and download them individually - the original just downloaded them. Might just be a setting on the Amazon website.
 
Did your other one have a light on it :p

The old one was one of the very first - had a full keyboard below the screen, page buttons on both left & right edges, no touch-screen, no light.
It has done the job though for many years. Its great in sunshine - far better than an led screen. Navigation around menus etc was somewhat awkward though.

Joan had the unlit kobo now has the lighted version and loves it if that helps any @Shelly! She likes it better than Kindle because she can download books from any library in Manitoba which pretty much gives her access to any book written for free! JIM

Years ago a friend told me the best thing to beat kids with was a marigold glove filled with sand, he said it doesn't leave bruises,=))=))=)), not sure how he knew.:thumbsup:lol.
