History will view him as one of the greatest F1 drivers of all time when he hangs his helmet up.
No denying he's a top driver. Possibly amongst the greatest of all time, which I know is a term that seems to get used far too easily these days.

I agree with off the track comments. However he's the greatest driver since Schumacher, an era in which there was no social media, so the pupblics opinion of you is what they read in magazines or see in interviews.
I wonder how many great drivers over the years would be held in a very different light had every aspect of their lives been plastered on social media.

Agree @Davyhoogy, don't see that Hamilton is any better or worse than others re his private life. Look at James Hunt! Still liked him as a driver. They all (like all the very rich) avoid taxes. Nobody is perfect, least of all me.
No PC with James Hunt; happy days.
He is good in modern F1, I don't know how good he would be as an all rounder.
