I don't know if you guys have one but i thought i would let you know.

I was in Halfords two weeks ago, I was talking to the assistant about some work i was doing to the Tr7, he said " I take it you come in here often " my response was " yeah although some parts are not stocked here "

He then asked if i had a trade card, to which i replied "NO"

He then filled in a form asked me my email and to sign the form, he said give this card to the cashier before buying anything and you will get discount .

another rubbish card i thought.

Tonight i needed small electrical spades, so i asked the cashier how much for these

the answer was £4.39 then i asked how much with the card, answer was £3.00

so £1.39 discount

Might be worth you guys inquiring about one.

No TR Drivers Club,

The last time i went with the TR Register i felt like a leper, I know it is a bit different now with Wayne Scott at the helm of the TR Youth Group promoting the TR 7/ 8

Our boy worked for Halfords as a bike mechanic while he was at university. He was given two "Colleague Discount" cards, one for him and another for a nominated "guest". I was the nominated guest. This entitled the card holder to 25% off most items and up to 30% off selected items.

If you know someone who works at Halfords why not ask them to make your purchases and split the saving?

He left Halfords when he finished uni but the card was still active 2yrs later. I used mine to get a great discount off their top of the range booster / charger. The shop price was around £130 and I paid less than £100.

If you use Halfords the Trade Card is a great idea

Hi Stevie
Yes I think that was so but Wayne is the new person in the office now, and there is a new chairman and there has been a big change round and the 7 & 8 get a mention much more

You can usually only get one if you are registered in the motor trade

Looks like the guy fudged it for you

I asked about a trade discount card in the local branch today (Chilwell,Nottingham ).
was told to apply on line :(......seems to be the answer for everything nowadays .

Steve

One of the ex Halfords who works at our place (has been nearly 7 years) still has his discount card and still uses it.

Tony.

The guy that did mine said it was originally for traders, but they started giving it out to people that were car enthusiasts because most traders had factor accounts like Dingbro etc.
He said it was more beneficial to give the card to car enthusiasts to encourage them to use Halfords.
I know my form was defiantly done in store and the card was issued in store at the same time.

Tony.

Just asked our boy if our card is still active and he said it was in April, as he bought me some new wiper blades for the Zed.

I'm doing an oil change on the Zed this week but I've bought the oil and filter and air filter from Euro Car Parts. If I'd seen this thread before I bought the parts I would have gone to Halfords to see if the card is still valid.

But knowing Halfords prices mate, even with discount, they would most likely have still been more expensive.

Tony.
