Hi and welcome from Rochdale.

There is a company in Bolton that repairs roofs called Bolton Car Interiors. Had a front seat repaired there and did a decent job. I know he advertises roofs on his website. Not had mind done there and don't know cost but might be worth researching.

Hi and welcome from me in South Ayrshire
As you have already found out hoods are very dear up here .
Swansea is a good bet at the cost even with the hotel and they drive it will still be cheaper
As for a garage near you in I'm a South Ayrshire so somebody like at @BillyB would probably be able to recommend somebody closer to you as he is in Edinburgh.
Your MOT fails don't look too bad exhaust will be the worse thing and depends what's wrong with it and like you've said will probably sort the Lambda once fixed the rest of the failures should be fairly straightforward
Is there any chance of you putting some pictures up of the damage to the roof I have managed to repair my wife's roof which was quite badly damaged it's ended up a reasonable standard so may be able to suggest something if can see what's wrong.
Will take some pics today. BillyB has messaged me on a local garage.

You are a very friendly bunch and most helpful. Must be the joy of owning a Z that makes everyone that way!

Jim

Thanks for everyones' great advice so far.

On the exhaust, took it to Kwik Fit today and there's a sizable hole in a section of round pipe towards back. They quoted £350 for a new exhaust. So wondering about the possibility of get this patched by a welder. The rest of the exhaust is solid and I might get another few years out of.

When it was on the ramp I asked the Kwik Fit Fitter (who remembers the ad?) about the brake cables on both sides not being secure and the exhaust not being adequately supported. He said he could see nothing wrong with either. So I'm beginning to wonder if the MOT garage is just at it?

On the roof, I've uploaded a couple of pics. The worst damage is at the bottom centre. The various other areas I think I could glue (epoxy) back in but getting that bottom section tucked in is going to be harder.

I would use sicaflex or tiger seal ( silicone adhesive, ) stuff windscreens bonded in with.
Epoxy will go hard not ideal as needs to be pliable silicone adhesive will stay bendy when set.
Originally held down with double sided tape but I have tried various types nothing lasts.
My wife's roof was burst right open and needed restricting and sealed but the sealer doing the trick so going to try it on the Dakar see if can sort it ( has similar problem to yours ).
