That's why you need a bloody holiday now and again, to let off steam and relax mate!

That Tony is a dead cert! It's booked and we're going, my generous gaffer has used my holidays to get me through this time off so when we do go away I've no holidays left! That's why you need a bloody holiday now and again, to let off steam and relax mate!
Tony.
Thanks salty. Yes two happy puppies welcomed me home!Welcome home Grumpy, bet the dogs were happy to see you! Great news you are home - you will feel brand new when you get out in your zed again ! Take it easy fella
Good for you mate! We need more like you. The thought of owning and running a couple of gites in France is getting more appealing by the day.Yeah I know the feeling mate. The company I work for is strictly still family owned, however while we were over here last September the founding owner passed. There's a general feeling amongst us who have been there longer (13 years) that things won't stay the same much longer. Targets get bigger etc. so that managers have to put pressure on sales of tyres and workshop time and this is the part I simply don't like and I won't rob people just to make some one else their bonus. I'm a bit old fashioned in that sense, when I worked for myself I would never have got rich, but would've been able to sleep at night.

That's really interesting thanks. We'd be wanting to go further south, maybe the limousin region. Maybe convertible weekend tours? Learn your area and away you go! I'm sat up in bed posting this getting quite excited lol! If it wasn't for that bloody mortgage......it's like a noose around our necks! Here's a place a couple of friends have been really good,it may give you ideas http://www.bikenormandy.com/motorbike-holiday-information/short-breaks/
Thanks a lot Brian. Yes you'll see I've just posted back to miller. If we were 10 years down the line I think we'd be doing it now to be honest. We're into our 10 year plan now anyway with a small business in France being the end result. Things like this just make you take stock of life and if I could come up with a way of bringing our plans forward I would. I'm sure I could sting you lot for a weekend once a year. Forum rates apply! Oh and don't forget your zed's!Glad you are back home Dave and the recovery is planned. Now you have time to research your idea/dream and catch up on French language skills.
There are some firms/groups who arrange touring holidays so could be worth looking into how they organise things. or perhaps a tie in with accommodation for their participants, just a few random ideas.
Keep taking it steady and look after Jue and the family.
Great idea, and could be a good business opportunity, tapping into the car tour market, we stayed at a place in Castellane last year they do that with bikers and cars, and there always busy and earning a good butty out of it,and of course driving round some great roads,Thanks a lot Brian. That's what I need moz! Positive feedback! It's different out there, its not all about ex amount on the payslip each week. For us it would be about making enough to live and enjoy more time together and enjoying what we do. I think a couple of gites and open top car tours could fill that criteria nicely. Jue's mum and step father have already said about coming with us when we're ready, we're just not ready yet! Wonder if Gaz would let me advertise on here???? ooh Gazzzzzz!Great idea, and could be a good business opportunity, tapping into the car tour market, we stayed at a place in Castellane last year they do that with bikers and cars, and there always busy and earning a good butty out of it,and of course driving round some great roads,

It's the usual thing moz. Money! 10 years time things will be very different for us and a lot of doors can be opened with care and consideration. I'd be 53 then so still some good years ahead to enjoy it. It would only make you about er 70??!!!!! You'd be plenty young and fit enough to come give it a whirl!Yeh bud , it would be great to do it now , while your still young,?[emoji14] ha ha, and tbh with the right marketing and the right area and with you an Jue as team it would be a winner,
Ive found that if you want sommat badly enough theres always a way to make it happen,
M
Now don't talk like that moz! Aliens are indestructible!Ha ha.hope im still around[emoji6] [emoji89]
there are loads of places in France to set up.I think that the area west of Claremont ferrand is a pretty good one.if you look on google earth note all the old volcanoes and the ski resort of super besse there's a great route from Calais west of Paris down to Vierzon to Ussel the limousin area .its where we go on the bikes about 8-9 hours from Calais ,no toll roads. That's what I need moz!
