I had the same problems with sticky calipers on my 3.0. Yes moving the piston in and out and cleaning up the caliper slides and making sure the pads were free definitely helped, but after a few months of inactivity the same problem reoccurred. Replaced both front calipers, they are relatively inexpensive.
Took my old ones apart and as mentioned earlier on in this thread the pistons had corrosion on them, they would of never cleaner up.
Blocking up the air hole in the master cylinder cap definitely slows down the loss of fluid and using dedicated flexible brake pipe clamps(which are readily available).
Changing a front caliper(wheel off) is a fairly quick and easy job.
