Hi Mark, welcome from me too near Lincoln. I tested a customer's 1984 280 SL last week, probably for the last time and I've tested it for the last 16 years. Enjoy your Z3 all the same.

Hi All, a new camshaft position sensor and MAF cleared up all my woes, and she runs beautifully now!

Hi All, I just proudly bought the cheapest Z3 in all of Japan, and while she's a bit of a beater, she's only got 90k km on the clock and runs OK.

Needs new seat covers, and top at some point but really I see the top as just rain cover anyway. Got a new MAF on order, hopefully that solves the slightly rough idle and some non-linear acceleration issues (and of course the P1140 code she's throwing). Looking forward to reading on on everything I can do DIY, and hopefully and some point being able to provide some information by contributing back. glad to be a part of the group!

Welcome on the forum Markb881, as Grumps posted, love a Merc, owned five over the years and my last one and most favorite was a 230 CE coupe. This is exactly the same as mine was but not mine as I lost a lot of photos when my old PC crashed :(

Hard Top, that's beautiful. Just like the one my dad had before, same color even!

I've had a '91 W126 350SD, '98 E300TD, '03 S500, and currently have the '72 280S and and '00 CL500. I love the old mercs, and have always been eyeing BMWs, although this '97 Z3 is my first. It is super fun to drive and easy to work on. My next one will be a 330Ci Cabrio, or a Z3/4 with a giant engine though. The 1.9 is plenty of fun, but I would say there's still something to look forward to!

I have also owned two Merc 190's and they were good fun also, modding and such :)
