Hi

After test driving a Z3 back in 2002 and deciding I wanted one I've finally got round to buying...

Picking up a 1.9 Z3 this evening. Not as sexy as some of the cars on here but it was the right price - It's bit of a project as it's been off the road for a few years so will need a bit of work to get it through it's NCT (Irish equivilent of MOT). There's also the issue of tax in Ireland a 1.9 is €673 for 12 months. A 2.8 would have been a massive €1391!

At a minimum I need a new alernator and catalytic converter to get it through the test and on the road. Once that's done I'll be looking at some of the body work issues (scratches and scrapes mainly) - but once I get it home I'll get some pictures and set up a progress thread.

Richie

Tax is pretty bad over here alright.

I did look at buying a UK car - a 1.9 would have cost me approx €1200 in registration fees.... luckily sourced a car already on an Irish plate.
