I've just took Jill to Ozzle Bowl in St Austell for a girls night out

That's a shame

Yes it's a great shame :p
It's the busiest time of year for all the traders down regent road :(
And all the shops were closed from one end to the other ........ :(
They must of lost thousands of pounds .......
I shouldn't think they will reopen the shops around for a few days ........

Sorry for your loss Shelly! Our bowling alley closed down a few years ago when the owners retired and sold the building. It also housed a movie theatre which hadn't been used in years and still had " Indian Seats" painted on the back few rows which was pretty offensive. But it does open one's eyes to the prejudice around these parts past, present and I'm sure future! Pi$$e$ me right off!! JIM

Shelly is that regent bowl?
We were there for my boy Stuart birthday in July he'll be gutted as he likes it there.
Hope nobody was hurt.

Yes it was Regent bowling alley :(
Such a great shame as it was a old building too .......
I should think it will be a few weeks before we find out what caused it

It's a shame when things come to a end Jim especially if they have been going for years .......
Will you have another one opening up anywhere close to you :p

Sadly it seems a frequent problem in seaside tourist places. Old buildings that don't withstand even the smallest of fires. It took over 5 years for the complex in Skegness to be rebuilt and put back into service after the fire there in 2007. They don't have the same feeling about them afterwards.
Is it known what the cause was?
Frequently it's vandalism. We had one of our transmitters burnt down in Norwich recently. A guy working there forgot to move some packaging for new equipment from outside. That night some thug set fire to it and destroyed everything inside. We have mobile transmitters available so I expect it was all back on air within 48 hours but the building will takes months to repair and rebuild at a cost of over £1m. Fortunately there no-one has lost their livelihood.
Sadly I don't think you get mobile bowling alleys.
Yesterday a local and successful farm shop re-opened in temporary accommodation after getting burnt down by vandals a few weeks ago. Thankfully the car park was rammed but most businesses fail after such a catastrophe.

Same old stories going around @Redline :p
Children or inside job ....... :(
It's just gossip at the moment some people like to be the first to know ;)
And say this happened or that happened :)
But I suppose we will find out when it's been investigated ;)

Bricks and mortar can be replaced - no lives lost - most important! Apartments opportunity?

Hopefully won't build apartments their ......... :p
It's full of shops on both sides :)
It wouldn't look right ;)

Thanks Shelly, we have a small 4 lane alley about 10 min from home but we never know when they're open as it's run by volunteers.
The other building apparently will become some sort of grocery store run by members of the reserve next to Pine Falls.
I hope they catch the people responsible and it's not the owners, how could they look people in the eyes? JIM

Yes that's true Jim :p
Hopefully it isn't the owners as it was a lovely building :)
Maybe it was electric fault :(

Yes Shelly, that's usually the cause in old buildings. Good thing no one injured or worse dead. Hope your foot is on the mend, amazing how something that would appear so small can take so long to heal. But at least the initial problem has been removed! JIM
