Great start to the day !!!!

I noticed some water on top of the microwave this morning.........and whats above it......the boiler !!!!

Took the casing off.....and found the drip was coming from the bottom 28mm blanked outlet ....
Dripping over the electrics ......oh goody !!!

Dried it all off, and just nipped up the nut.....always worried about over tightening plumbing connections.

Cut in a small tray ( or takeaway container !!) to catch any drips ...but see how it goes over the next day or so. Might only be dripping when its hot so will wait and see.

No point putting the casing back until I know if its fixed......but if not, then I need to get a new blanking plug, and drain the system down to fix it

Why is it these things only happen in winter ?????????

Your lucky , a couple of years ago I was clearing around the boiler (its under the stairs) including moving a Olympus camera bag. It seemed very heavy so opended it up -------- found it full of water and my 35mm camera bodies and lenses in old stale water. I had been letting air out the system for quite a while and never considered checking were water was going. Turned out part of the boiler had given up . It was a Baxi that had been installed for around 20 years.
Fortunatly my insurance were very fair about agreeing a value, and very much to my surprise the best quote i got for replacing it was Britisg Gas.

I have replaced some of the Olympus equipment as I found it ,used, alhough I have modern Canon I still prefer 35mm (or even roll folm) for some occasions.

After nipping it up and thinking you'll need to replace blanking plug why not give yourself a little more time and peace of mind by using the new waterproof tape they're all raving about. If it works you could tell us all to get some just in case. Someone needs to try it to see just how good it is, even if it is only for a drip. ( No pun intended.)

Seeing your post reminded me that I have a Canon digital camera which I haven’t used for years. So after a bit a search , I found it ( luckily the 4 batteries were ok and not leaked) and there are loads of pictures of Tricia, taken about 5 years ago. Completely forgot about them,so I will upload to the computer before I lose them.

Glad the boiler leaked now as they may not have come to light

Well the heating has been on for an hour now and up to temp...... and no leaks so far

It was too hot down here on the coast to put it in any earlier

So the boilers little nip did the trick.....so I decided to have a nip or 10 to celebrate!!!!

I know it’s only Tesco....but these days I go for quantity rather than quality

Inspired by @t-tony I put 4 x 5ft led units up in the garage, replacing two old 7ft tubes.....what a difference....need sunglasses out there now
Now in the process of fitting two 600mm sq. led light panels in the loft to replace the one five foot tube.....I cant wait to see the difference. Hopefully complete it tomorrow.

Just seen this. Glad your all dry now and can sympathise ref all the other jobs Mazza. I haven't stopped since last March and last month thought I'd finished then my daughter turned up with 55inch tele present. Ha!! The tele table (solid oak) needed altering to get all the extra bits in leaving the new tele to sit on top on it's own. Had paint left over from this job so boss decided the old dresser would look nice matched. What a god awfull job that desser was. So wish I was back out of retirement. At least you can pic up your guitar and sing your way out of boredom, Me!!!! Can't sing or play a note and she tells me that there's only one drip in this house. Truth sometimes really hurts.
