Apologies to those of a nervous disposition but what follows is (according to a guy in our French office) a true story from some 15 years ago. The make and model of car wasn't mentioned......
A couple of days after taking delivery of a new car the guy’s son asks if he can borrow it for the evening. His dad isn’t keen but relents when his son promises not to drink and to be very careful.
So off he goes to a party with his mate and true to his word doesn’t drink. Driving home late at night along a country road in rural France something runs out in front of the car and he hits it. He stops to find a wild boar lying stone dead in the road and the front bumper and lights damaged. Deciding that the only way his dad will believe what happened is to provide the evidence, so he and his mate put the boar on the back seat and drive off.
A few minutes later the boar regains consciousness and is not happy ……..
It starts leaping around violently and making a lot of noise. In a complete panic they stop the car and get out as quickly as possible, leaving the keys in the ignition.
At this point the boar manages to get into the front of the car and somehow hits the button which operates the central locking. It then goes completely wild and starts tearing up the seats and anything else it can get hold of.
They call the police who arrive about 10 minutes later. They assess the situation and have a brief discussion….
After which one of the policemen pulls out his hand gun and shoots the boar through the window of the car.
So to add to the damage caused by the boar there is now glass, blood and brains everywhere…………
That must have made an interesting insurance claim !!!!!
