Just watched this weeks Grand tour on Prime, what a terrific tribute to Jim Clark by Hammond and the team. Really told the story of what a great driver he was.

Nice one, shall be sure to watch it later.

Jim Clark was truly one of the greats. He could drive anything faster than anyone else and was my boyhood hero. I was 11 when he was lost and his death was the first in my life that I mourned.

Not watched any yet. We shall however be starting them tonight :)

In my old work I used to service a 1968 lotus elan that was one of a number of cars built after Jim Clark's death that were fitted with black and silver Lotus badges.

Superb! A great tribute, wasn't bad, was he :wideyed:

Amongst my research into the history of Scalextric production in the 1960s I met the man responsible for the company’s relationship with Jim Clark. Jim Clark was one of the first people to endorse a product and his face was on many sets.

I was told a few stories including the fact that when he died the company destroyed all unused box lids as a mark of respect and scrambled round locally in Havant (Portsmouth) to find someone to print new lids. This being at the height of Scalextric popularity.

Jim Clark was a great driver, and, he also had a brilliant engineering mind producing great cars for him to display his talents, I would say they both were good for each other. Colin Chapman was exceptional too.

Tony.
