Been under Reggie today sorting one or two bits out, well one in the end!

Replaced the air jobby thingy thing as this one was fooparred!

Then jacked up the car and put axle stands under to start on the diff mount bush which ended up not getting done due to either a fault of the car or a poorly trained mechanic! o_O

The bush is in a poor state so works will be resumed when back from Holland up at @Antm72 pad as he's done his recently so knows how to tackle it.

Finally spotted this, I assume it's the original shocks?

Looks like factory shocks to me Dave. Consistent label with every other set of knackered shocks we've removed in the Zed Shed.
Thought that was the case Gaz thanks

When I saw the title of the thread I thought you had been out shoveling the horsey stuff again to cover your backside for the Anglo/Dutch trip....

Good effort mate, braver man than me

Think i know why you couldn't get the diff to drop mate because you had the axel stands on the beam so the weight of the car was on it pushing it up .The stands need to go on the outer edges to allow the beam some rotation and it may then give you whats needed
We'll sort it .....:)

What he needed was the jack under the Diff. and the axle stands under the jacking points I think?

Tony.

Had the Jack under the diff and it lowered it enough to get the bolt out but not enough to change the bush.

But you didn't have the stands under the jacking points on the sills ? Which should have let the Diff hang down enough to knock out the old bush.;)

No I didn't mate, that's where the lack of experience kicks in.

Maybe we should have got it done while you were here mate, sorry we didn't.:(

Tony.

Good effort Dave, at least you've done one of the jobs:thumbsup:. I did that rubber air MAF thingy a couple of years ago, not the easiest job to do. Well done.;)

Don't worry about it mate, you had enough on! Going to nip to Ants when we get back from Holland.

No kidding Dave, it's a doddle of a job it's the lack of space that's the problem, made even worse by having a strut brace fitted! Skin off knuckles obligatory!!

If cars were that easy to work on that anyone could do it I probably wouldn't have a job ;)
