Cruise control, that is. Damn foolish car doesn't like to sit at a steady speed on a motorway, just wants to go faster which is a bit of a pain when just trying to take it easy in company. So a phone call to Sopers later, the bits turned up this morning, I've plugged it in and now it'll be time to go and play with the new toy. It's a lovely day for it, too. Not like Wales at all.

Cruise control is great for long journeys, even better with all the average speed cameras we now have !

And......it works. Feels a bit strange not doing anything myself but feeling the engine pick up and back off by itself. The amount of speed cameras that pop up around here, especially now it's tourist time, it'll come in handy.

It was a must have for my Z3, so much more comfortable over long journeys being able to stretch/move both legs. Just gotta save up for the Z4 version now.

I love my cruise control.
I still have 2 stalks for sale.

Was it easy to fit?

Yes for me as my car is fly by wire just the stalk and the interface unit

I'm not mechanic and have no tools to speak of but i managed it.
I only have one part and that the stalk £50
As i said if yours is fly by wire then the only other item is the interface about £50 from Soper BMW.

If anyone is not aware, this was covered quite a while ago by BrianH, https://zroadster.org/articles/bmw-z3-m54-cruise-control-retrofit.25/ or thereabouts. It is indeed very easy, the stalk slides underneath the wiper stalk etc, almost like it was meant to be there. Only tricky bit was finding the three-pin connector, it was in a bundle of other wires on mine, not hard to find but not immediately obvious either.

Enjoy your new gadget :p
