Gorgeous icecream

The entrance to the back of the garage was down a "10 foot" next to Spooners accountants the showroom was round the corner on North St.. Was owned by F K Sharpe of Lincoln. There used to a pub on that corner, Horse and Groom IIRC.

I've been trying to find some pictures on the net to jog my memory but no luck yet !
I can remember a couple of little shops round the corner one was a sweet/tobacconist shop the guy running it was called Horace I believe and the other was a pet food shop I think.
Went in the Horse and Groom a few times in fact I went into most of the pubs in Gainsborough

Dead right on the shops mate, Horace (Bertie) had the sweet shop, and the Pet shop was Harry Cuffling's. In between was Geoff Knowles the Butcher. On the corner opposite the pub was Cassie Watts "Antiques"

You have a far better memory than I have, I can remember a fair few shops, pubs and others but not with as much detail as you.by

Hey, Tony, Your mention of Geoff Capes reminded me of a time when the wife and I worked for a Colonel and his wife, both very well off and lived in a world of their own. A house in Chelsea and a mansion in Wales with holiday cottages that Vicki and I had to see the guests in and out. One time on the day before new guests were due we were making sure everything was clean and tidy and I went to open a window to let some air in. Well, the damn thing was stuck fast, I said to Vicki; "Bl**dy hell, we'll need Geoff Capes to get this open!" The Colonel's wife piped up with; " Is he a local tradesman, perhaps we can give him a call!"
This at a time when Geoff was at his peak!

No broken bones mate just lumps and bumps.

Tony.
He's a lucky man, usually as we get older our bones become more brittle and are broken more easily , Harry has forgot to tell his bones how old he is lol

I think you're right mate.

Tony.
