I’ve decided to rationalise the number of forums / FB sites that I frequent and occasionally post..

Many sites are now largely dormant / have moved to a general social basis rather than a technical / ownership focus / are duplicated elsewhere either in content or the postings / users…

Whilst I like to post my content , splattering it everywhere and/or dominating otherwise dormant sites doesn’t seem appropriate..

I’d like to thank those I have had the privilege to help / interact with / be helped by..

If you want to see what I’m doing and / or want help / interaction please see my Z4 Forum post on my Yellow 35is here

Or my personal Yellow Z4 FB page

Funny but I always preferred this forum over the Z4Forum and having just sold my E89 and bought a Z3 I suspect I will be doing the opposite to you in spending more time on ZRoadster than Z4Forum 👍

Peter was nice meeting you on the Scottish run.
If i ever get an e89 and have an issue you will definitely be the man to speak to .
Maybe see you back on here at some point.
Stephen.

Can't be on everthing I suppose. Although I'm a member I rarely go on Z4 Forum unless there's a problem I can't find a thread for on here, but in general I don't find it that good. I find events, drives out and very helpful members on here which is why I've used this site most even though I'm on several others. Wouldn't do for us all to prefer the same thing! :)

Absolutely the opposite for me.
The Z4 forum is a lot more 'light hearted' IMHO, whereas this one is a bit more serious. I think that is a demographic thing; as this is a 'Z3' forum (cos it is) the average owner is a bit older than the 'other' one, so I can't relate aswell, being a mere 58 years old (with a mental age of 15)!

I own a Z3 but don't own a Z4 (anymore), however my 'go to' social media is always the Z4 forum. Maybe it's because I have carved out a niche as the 'village idiot' on there (which was on purpose BTW). Something I find hard to do on here TBH. There are many things I can post on the other forum that I wouldn't dare post on here, for fear of offence.

Car forums are a dying breed. So many forums are now just empty rooms with one or two people talking to themselves or each other. Look at how many people join this forum to get free advice about a problem they have, then never come back once they have their query answered. It happens a lot on the Z4 forum too which is no good to sustain a 'community'.

And I would say exactly the opposite - weird isn't it?

For a starter there is no restriction on the type of Zed you own on here and I hate the "show us your watch" type threads that often appear on the Z4Forum.

I think both forums do a good job of covering and responding to technical / mechanical issues associated with the cars but on ZRoadster there is more social content regarding events, drives out, and associated hostilleries & cafes.

But has as already been said it wouldn't do for us all to like the same thing and at least with ZRoadster & Z4Forum we have two very active car forums 👍

Sorry to see you go Peter but understand your rationale. It was good to meet you on Stephens Scottish run:thumbsup:

Spot on, I have been here since Sep 2012 and have tried to welcome everybody onto the forum. But you're right there's only a handful out of the hundreds I have welcomed still here.

I checked this forum before I bought my Zed. The buyers guides, servicing gen and all round top advice from like minded enthusiasts has enabled me to buy a good un and keep it on the road.
I haven't found a better car related forum. My thanks to those who set this forum up an put the effort in to keep it running.

Jonno

I’ve never been on Facebook or any social media 🤞
This is all that I do , I’ve got too many other things to be doing 🌞
