Did anyone on here buy this, if I had the space it would be in my garage, price seemed about right and the best colour combo

It's missing the clutch hence so cheap, will make a good breaker or donor car for a manual conversion.

I clicked on the hyperlink and read the entire description of the car. There was one sentence that jumped out from the ad when they talked about the car coming from South Carolina. You'd think they were talking about Camden, New Jersey, or Detroit Michigan:

"Find out here how to enjoy the Deep South without landing in deep trouble.."

Sports cars have to be manual, this is the law. Exceptions might be considered for one legged drivers.:)

Makes that one up for £9500 look a little optimistically priced

Yes it is an Auto!! This one has been on EBAY a couple of times and sold for (£4600) around the same price. I wonder how many of these bidders actually took the time to view and test drive the car

Have to say whilst auto is not my thing in a Z3 2.8 it's like a rocket ship on take off. I think they are quicker 0-30, just plant you foot and it goes. Makes for a different drive.

Most people who criticise an auto either haven't driven one or don't know how to drive one, or both!;)

Tony.

ps. IF, you're in a hurry in my car, simply turn off the TC and select Sport mode and plant your foot, or, use the steptronic. it can change gear quicker than you can.:)
If manual gearbox cars were the best they would still be fitted in F! cars.

Tony, I have had tip tronic but as good as it was you still lack the control that manual gives

So why hasn't F1 gone back to a man changing gear through an Aluminium gate mate?;) I think it just means your driving style has to adapt, that's all.

Tony.

Auto is just not the same mate, can't beat clutch control, slipping it just at the right time.

Well zoom in tto he photos. They are not split rim alloys and look kerbbed too.

Nice 3.0 but looks like it needs some tlc. As for the auto box, some love then some don't. For my daily it's a VW DSG, for my zeds. They are both manual... finding a manual 3.0 these days is a mission.

I never thought about entertaining an auto until I purchased my E46 330d, it's a great cruiser and goes like stink and the manuals fetched a premium. On a tourer like mine it's great, I can imagine continued spirited driving in a manual would pull the clutch and flywheel to bits eventually!
I hilts if live a 3.0l Z3 I'm not sure an auto would do it for me, I'd feel a little detached from the drive. If I was crushing through Europe then I can imagine it would be great. I was recently offered a 3.0l auto but the gearbox was doing very strange things and after reading the odd thread on here, I can imagine they are a small fortune to fix / replace the ECU etc. Whilst you can't discount a car on what "might" happen to it I think I'd stick with a manual.

Have to agree Tony. I would like anyone to try and keep up with @MAURICE THE MARTIAN in his 3.0 Auto
