Always nice to see something different mate 
So we stopped for lunch here,
Then back onto the I10.
Later on seeing the part of this road where you drive through the tree tops and later seeing the damage caused by Hurricane Michael last year. Its hard to really see from pictures.
Almost at Panama City Beach, just along the coast from Mexico Beach which was obliterated by the Hurricane.
Anyway, evening meal. Now you see it, (them),

Brilliant. I last went to the States in 2014 but with work but that was Dallas (of which I have been to previously twice). Myself, daughter and Ex missus were regular visitors to the USA and mostly Florida. My last visit for pleasure purposes however was 2008. I can't believe how quick it has gone, myself and my Fiancee keep trying to get back but something always gets in the way (she loves italy for starters). Anyway one of the regular restaurants in the US (other than CheeseCake Factory and Lux Cafe) was Perkins.
Many fond memories of Perkins. In fact I think we discovered Perkins on the last day of one Florida holiday back in 1988 or maybe the early 90's IIRC.

Stayed here at the Hampton 18 months ago, nice place right on the GoM beach. Had a drive along the spot of land which connects Navarre Beach to Pensacola Beach this evening. It is a very narrow strip of land with the GoM on one side and the Intra Coastal on the other, shows well on the Sat nav.
At the Pensacola end of the development there is a group of 5 new hotels which are built on top of their car parking.
The landscape out along this strip is a bit weird what with the "white" sands. It looks eerie at dusk.
Naval Air Museum tomorrow then a little further along the coast a visit to the "Flora-bama".
