Going to look at a 1997 2.8 this week. Anything engine wise, I should look for or look at in particular?

Nothing specific springs to mind. Standard stuff I should imagine. Should pull from 25mph in 5th with no issues and really kick on in the high rev range.

Thanks Andy, will try and give the rev range a good going over on the test drive :D

Boot spot welds, mayo on the oil filler cap, check everything electrical works properly. Take it up to 70 mph if you can to check for vibrations, damp/wet under carpets, check all warning light come on and then go off etc., all the usual suspects. I know you mentioned just the engine, but write yourself a checklist for everything you can think of, and then tick them off as you go. That way you will not forget anything.
Best of luck,
Bonzo.

Accelerate briskly from a standstill up to 3rd gear, floor it from about 4000rpm then lean over and look in the rear view mirror. You should see a big silly grin.

That’s the plan ;)

Will be keeping the Silver Zed, but not sure about the Blue 1.9. Most likely sell it on. But will most probably have to store it over winter, somewhere, to get good money for it next summer.

So I might have 3 for a while
Just don’t tell the boss
