Getting a little concerned.

A couple have already lost contact with the outside world.

Tony.

My mate is on his way as I type this.

He might need @hard top's tin hat!

Really hoping it slackens off some before it hits.

Just stay safe is the advice. No heroics needed. Distressing though it is, property damage can be repaired.

Projected to still be a Cat 2 as it reaches up the East coast of Florida so hopefully it'll do what Mathew did and swing out into the ocean a little more.

My mate was evacuated from the East coast to Orlando before he even left Manchester yesterday. He's going to go to ours today to put the patio furniture in the house along with the wheelie bins into the garage. He landed last night and went shopping to find NO bottled water left anywhere. Fuel stations had long lines.

Hope your able to get everything sorted and safe

Good luck Tony, but you just have to hope nothing too bad happens and the main thing is that you are both safe. When we lived in Spain a huge forest fire raged down the valley. We were evacuated and just had to watch from the other side of the valley as the fires swept along the mountain side. It was just a case of what will be will be,but fortunately for us the wind direction changed just before the fires reached our property. Houses very nearby to us were lost, but ours survived.Hope you have similar good fortune.

Thank you Ken. Hope we have the same good fortune, we got off lightly last year.:)

Just seen the latest statement from Florida Governor and it sounds bleak, certainly for the Keys and SW coastline, hopefully your place is inland enough to survive and that friends and neighbors stay safe.

We are right in the middle of Central Florida however the track of the storm is posted to pass through the neighbouring counties on the western side of our house which unfortunately puts Kissimmee on the "bad" side of the storm. Predicted winds of up to 90mph. and up to 20" of rain that could cause inland flooding.
