I've just read that John Noakes has died aged 83. Reminds me of getting a Blue Peter badge for making folding paper buildings for model motor racing displays as a boy!

Loved Blue Peter as a boy and John Noakes was a bit
of a hero to me. He seemed to have a go at anything!
I think at one time he held the record for the highest
Civilian parachute jump!

Yeah just read this in my news feed ....
Just saw this on MSN too. He was a great role model for kids growing up in the late 60's early 70's. Remember him climbing Nelson's column to clean up after the pigeons 
I remember his sky dives too, he was just like your scout master should have been. He was an inspiration to thousands of youngsters and should have been Knighted, absolutely no question

Guess it's inevitable everyone we grew up with as kids will be dropping off the perch now. Remember last year kicking off with Terry Wogan, David Bowie . . . ? I've got a badge somewhere. Think Sir Roger was the biggest hit
Saw him last year on celebrity pointless with Peter Pervis. He didn't look well then. Anther gone from my childhood.
He had chronic Alzeimers apparently for the last 2 years. Think his passing was a blessed relief.
