It's easy to drain the oil, but a pain to re fill, you can't get the full litre out of the squeezy bottle & gearbox oil stinks. someone has ran a tube down from the engine bay to the filler to do this. others suggest buying 2 X 1 Ltr bottles. all in all not difficult but can be messy.
If your stuck Tracy give me a PM. I have done both my Z's on my drive.

I believe @Southernboy has a way of doing it through the top. Really easy you re-fill with no mess.

Indeed I do.... Simple.. You need a funnel and a length of flexible plastic tube.of 1,5 meters. Join the tube to the funnel, remove the gearshift boot and the rubber sound proofing below it. Slide the tube into the gap between the body and the gearbox and then from under the car, put the tube into the filler hole. Place a catch tray under the filler hole and start filling. Have someone watch from below and tell you when the oil starts coming overflowing. You can then stop. replace the filler plug and the bits inside the car. I suggest you have a rag handy to pop over the end of the tube when you withdraw it from inside the car. Alternate, detach the hose from the funnel and get it out from under the car. You will still need a rag to catch any drops from the funnel though.
Nice thing is you can sit comfortably in the seat while you're doing the entire job...:)

Iv used a Oil suction syringe, drained my rear diff via the bung & used one of these to refill, no wastage & the exact amount put in. They are only £12 to £15 and are worth every penny.
