Gearbox oil

Hi all.
As title appreciate any advice to which gearbox oil to use. Thinking of changing also how much capacity? To buy.
My cars manual 5 speed 1997 1.9.
Also anyone know anywhere in Hertfordshire that could perform this for me.

Just looked is that Syntrans or Syntrax ? Will 1 litre do it only they don't say how much I need.

Syntrans Tracy. Syntax is for the diff. Can't honestly remember, pretty sure I bought two litres of each and still have a litre off the diff oil left.

I might be wrong and normally am,not all Z3s have a LSD as standard, so it's advisable to check the original build data.

Its for the gear box and you are right, not all z3s have a slippy diff.

According to the Bentley manual, the 1.9 manual box holds 1.0 litre.

Good to know 1 litre does my 1.9 gearbox still ain't got it yet.

I'd recommend calling Opie Oils on the number on their website. For my Z4 they recommended a combination of two oils to help make the gear changes smoother. Wouldn't have been able to get that kind of advice just from looking at their website!

Depends on the label's color on the gear box. If it's orange is ATF fluid.
