Hi..my 97 Z3 has just shed its gear lever on me (the home part has detached from the rubber thats fitted around the metal part).

Has anyone experienced this before and any advice on where to source a replacement ? (are non genuine ones reasonable/)...thanks in advance

I think I undertsnad the bit you mean. It happened to me - I tried to repair using superglue but didn't really work. In the end I went with a genuine OEM replacement (I think about £50) just because I want to try and keep some originality and I like quality on the bits I touch most often (if you know what I mean......)

And welcome from Milton Keynes

Hello Steve and welcome to forum.:welcome: I agree with Tommo, replace it with something that is solid and looks nice, I replaced mine with one by AC Schnitzer.. The original had been very very successfully superglued on, but it was horrible to remove with a chisel. Blood was spilt.
