What about experimenting with different types of foam?
I took both out,the front one(bulkhead) is the longest, so i put the shorter less dense piece back, but put it at the front (bulkhead),now sounds great --to me :D

Makes Exhaust Whistles attractive then to zed owners, and cheaper than buying a performance exhaust.

It will be electric Turbo Chargers next................can't wait

I have now driven just under 2000 miles in the Z4, and it has to be said it's been a great experience so far. Fuel consumption seems to be inline with what I could have expected with 3.0 automatic. Here are some of the average figures from my fuel log.

I've had it as low as 19mpg driving around town, and on the motorway it will easily give 29+mpg.

Miles DrivenAve. MPGAve PPM
1,985.1023.3527.8
Compared to the 2.0 Z3 which averaged 27.26mpg over 8,811 miles I don't think that is at all bad!

The fuel consumption is based on actual fuel used rather than the OBC figures. That said, the Z4 OBC is the most accurate I have seen in a car so far, being on average only 1.16mpg out from the true figure. To compare that my MINI Cooper D is about 6mpg out, and my old 525d was similarly 6mpg out.
