Gaming nerd!

I built myself a gaming PC in 2013
Just redone mine, went with an Intel i7700 4.2ghz overclocked to 4.6. 16GB ram and what looks to be the worlds largest cooling fan. Already had an SSD drive, and the only thing I want to change it the GTX 750 Ti card depending on whether it can cope with the third monitor - which incidentally arrives tomorrow
I honestly don't know how anyone manages with one monitor these days! This is how I roll at work, although I swapped the keyboard for a nice slimline one (but you can't beat an old Dell keyboard for comfortable typing!). The same monitors I use at home, as I spec all the kit for work :D

Careful you dont go over your driving hours Gaz :rolleyes:

=))=))=))=))
OK, I admit it... I'm a nerd, and I've just come up with the perfect reason to get that third monitor for my gaming PC...

Finally got around to configuring it so games can use both monitors at the same time... With the third monitor it's gonna be perfect for Forza 7.

These pics are of Euro Truck Simulator, which simulates, er, truck driving! I reckon I'm better than @Grumps now :ymdevil:

On a single monitor you have to scroll around to look in each mirror which makes junctions a lot easier.

This is what I'm aiming for... May even consider the steering wheel, pedals and gear shifter for full immersion.

You really need to get out more.

I put this lot into Google Translator :bookworm::bookworm: ............ And my computer crashed  ..... still none the wiser :wideyed::wideyed:

OMG this is literally both the most epic and most daft thing I've done with a gaming PC =))

(whoops haven't changed the calendar over yet)

5760x1080 pixels - or what I now call ultra-ultra widescreen...

...and this game runs out the box without the frame rate tanking to unplayable :D

You need 4k monitors

When I'm rich I will upgrade but for now these are gonna do the job fine. Would be looking at around £250+ at the low end for a 4K monitor, and the primary use of the machine isn't gaming usually.

But then again, I'd rather aim for 16k

Graphics card prices are starting to drop a bit now, and this was a bargain. Time to replace the GTX 750 Ti that's done me proud for the last 5 years... Next stage will be liquid cooling throughout to reduce the fan noise.

Going bitcoin mining Gaz?
;)

Im thinking of buying a new card for my build as i too have been waiting for prices to drop. I keep that hearing that new cards will be announced later this year so I'm thinking of holding off until then. My 3 year old 970 strix does just fine for now. It'll be interesting to see if prices continue to fall or whether they'll go back up!

You have to commit at some stage, as soon as you buy it will likely be superseded pretty quickly. This was £200, and just can’t justify blowing £800+ on a 1080. The 750 ti ran 3 monitors comfortably, just couldn’t max out the game settings.

The i7 7700i processor I bought not too long ago has already been superseded with the 8700k, not to mention the i9’s are starting to ship.

Just waiting for amazon to drop some display port cables as I forgot to add them with the gfx card order to try out the 3 screen racing simulator setup. That struggled the most, so will be nice seeing that maxed out.

I just don’t have the energy (or cash) to keep up, this is now a pretty decent system and should be good for a few years (I hope!)
