Fuelling Fury! ⛽️

About 2 months ago, the radio reported Chevron's quarterly report with profits in the BILLIONS. I can't figure it. It doesn't cost more to take it out of the ground. It doesn't cost more to refine it. Russian oil only amounted to 8 percent of the world's supply. So did the price increase reflect the 8 PERCENT LOSS OF SUPPLY????????. They told us over here that part of the increase was due to the 'summer blend' that was now being produced. They said that it's not as volatile as the winter blend. Doesn't that mean that they don't have to refine it as much to get a less volatile blend? And wouldn't that cost less money to do that? Same BS that they now give up about diesel fuel. I'm 71 years old and I remember that FOR YEARS AND YEARS, diesel fuel was only A FRACTION of the cost of gasoline. Then, people started to realize that instead of paying sky high prices for home heating fuel, they could use diesel fuel at half the cost and it worked even better because it was a little better refined. So to stop that, the oil companies jacked up the price of diesel fuel to ABOVE the price of home heating oil. And now it's considerably HIGHER than gasoline. Now that's strange. It takes much less refining to obtain diesel that gas. That's why is was always so much cheaper than gas. Now they're giving us the BS story that it MIGHT be a bad hurricane season and a refinery on the Gulf coast MIGHT be taken out in a storm so they raised the price a little higher. Oh yes, and a house fly might land on one of the power lines supplying power to the refinery and short it out so we BETTER jack up the price in the event that that COULD happen. Any other reason to increase the price because something MIGHT HAPPEN?. Perhaps it's time to nationalize the oil companies as they SEEM to be a threat to national security. If they aren't, I'm sure we can think up SOME reason, the way they do. as an excuse to teach them a lesson for their greed......................................Frankie....................(rant over).............whew!!!!!!!!!!!!

The amount of oil in the system is controlled by OPEC. The price of oil is set by markets depending on how much oil is sloshing about. OPEC use any excuse to slow down the supply which drives up the price to increase their profits.

Windfall tax!
