Free(ish) Brake Switch Repair

If your brake lights stop working, and you can't lower / raise the roof, chances are that the brake light switch is kapput.

Mine passed all the "beep tests" with the multimeter, but wouldn't work on the car.

I wondered if it were the connectors , but they seemed fine.

My conclusion was that the switch must just be incapable of carrying the current, so I'd have to buy a new switch - or would I?...

I just bought a new one, cheap enough so I bought two, getting the old one out is a bit of a PITA in a manual with a clutch en the way., I just cut its head off it with side cutters in the end, fitting the new one is not so difficult though...
