France BEWARE if travelling ?

Back home now mate only had 4 days over in France got back Thursday :)

Brittany mate what a lovely place, we visited Mount St Michael that was stunning and stayed in Dinan an old walled city will let Dave post the pictures, was well worth the visit and found the French people great very helpfull and polite:)
Went to Mount St Michael 4 years ago. Lovely place to visit and free to enter which is unheard of now days. Very busy tho. It's officially the busiest tourist attraction in the world apparently.

The Mount itself was free but the monastery at the top cost 10 euro each still worth it thou Dave:)

Jim when they walked up to where we were sitting I was gob smacked:woot:
That makes it even better Bazza!! While travelling in the eighties we happened upon several people that we knew from Canada which was pretty exciting because none of us knew the others were over there!! Enjoy your trip and drive safe please, I love your posts as well as those of the Mints!! JIM

Next to the Vatican i''m sure you're right and I truly wish I had taken advantage of free R/b plus a car for as long as we needed it!! JIM

Fantastic tale, good effort by the Mints - the mark of a meaningful friendship

Or were they just lost :p ;) B. Tyler.

And to think they were only off to Stafford for the day shopping.

Well, what can I say but...yes it's true, we are mad. It was a (very) last minute decision (after a glass of wine) on Saturday night to go over and surprise Barry & Jan. Three things input to the decision, we knew where they'd be, the weather promised to be good and it was good to celebrate the end of Pauline's radiotherapy. So a great adventure in the Zed was very quickly planned. I booked the same hotel as Baz as we had previously been there, the tunnel crossings, insurance for us and the car and breakdown cover all on Sunday morning.

We left home early on Monday morning - 06:00 am:eek:, we're retired so there's only one six o clock in the day normally;), it was still dark and cold so roof was up. We struck quite a bit of traffic on our way down and as I hadn't allowed enough time we missed the latest check in for our scheduled crossing by 10 mins, bo*****ks. However we did get on the next one so not all bad. The weather had bucked up by now so we put the roof down while waiting to board the train. A pretty uneventful run down to the hotel but as we were a bit behind schedule I set the cruise at 130 kph and away we went. We saw Baz & Jan having a drink (surprise, surprise) outside a bar as we drove in but luckily they didn't see us. We parked up and after a quick freshen up in the hotel we went to spring the surprise. Well, to say they were surprised is an understatement. In fact Baz was pretty much speechless (very unusual) but we could tell by their faces they were pleased to see us.

We spent a wonderful two days with them exploring the town and as Baz said above going to St Michel's Mount before we returned home on Thursday. A very full-on four days and lots of driving the Zed. She behaved impeccably but we've put another 1,200 miles on her:rolleyes: in three days as she didn't move on Tuesday. A great meet up with great friends, great weather, roads, food and a bit of drink. It's what Zedding is all about:thumbsup:. I'll sort some photos out later as we're out to lunch with some friends now...

That's brilliant Dave. Just a last minute decision to hit the tunnel is something i'd love to be able to do. To be prepared to go such a long distance and the expense of doing such a trip just shows what great friends you all are. And most of all the fact that Pauline is fit and well and wanting to travel. Excellent all round i'd say!!
