WOW, I am going to make mine next week, great to see how it is going to look but mine is green. Getting the etching in the perspex is the hard part $$$ wont be putting the Z3 in the middle though, and will operate on a switch so i can turn it off if i get annoyed.
Stuff that for a joke!

A company here wants $180 to etch in a few words like 'Z3 Roadster', that GBP100! The perspex only cost mt US$80. I am not too sure what I can do now but at least I have an off-cut to practice on if I decide to do it myself.

Sorry, something went wrong!
Anyhow, how are your skills with a woodworking router? Cut out your pattern in plywood and router it wherever you want it on your shield. You can go as deep as you want while maintaining control, even go right through if desired.
Another method is to go to a hobby shop and buy some gasket paper for etching glass. Cut out your design, stick it on the shield and apply the etching compound you also bought at the hobby shop.
Next up is find a store that sells your message etched on any product they sell and see if they'll do it for you. Shouldn't cost very much as they only charge a few bucks to do a glass and about $20 to etch a mirror. HTH. Could do it for you if you weren't a biz zillion miles away, JIM
