Vettel shoud have kept his head ,after Hamilton deliberately brake tested him,iff he hadn't banged his front tyres against the Merc ,I think Hamilton would be the one having a penalty.
FIA looked at Hamilton's telemetry data, no brake test was carried out they report. If that's the case Vettel took his eye off the ball and ran into the back of him.
The evidence shows that Hamilton didn't brake test him, and he did the same thing on the previous re start Vettel just pre-empted what he thought was going to happen. His mistake pure and simple, he's just not big enough to admit he cocked up and the longer you don't the harder it gets.

Yep andy your correct , he didn't brake ,he let off the gas dropped it down a gear ,he knew he'd get minimal or no damage imho ,which he didn't,I think it was deleberate and shouts desperation because he's rattled, he was last year with Nico ,and he turned to dirty tricks as we all know, but for slagging seb off as he's not a role model for formula one,he's so wrong ,he had one moment off madness banging him into him,Seb conduct himself so well ,and when the chips are down,he ain't got a face like bull dog lickin p**s off a nettle,but one thing I will say f1s great this year between Ferrari and Mercedes ,it's just a pity there's not a few more teams up there at the front.
You may be right there Andy, what he should have done is wait for Schumacher to retire as he inevitably would have done, but he expected, rightly so that he would not swerve across the track to just take him out. That didn't go so well!

The BBC are reporting with greater emphasis that Silverstone is about to bail out of its F1 contract due to ever increasing costs attached to the existing agreement. They cite that, unlike many state supported race and venues, that they, as a self funding club, are likely to go bust (taking all British motor racing with it) if they stay in the game.
If it happens, will it dampen your interest if F1?
Or will the F1 circus quietly find some way of keeping Silverstone in the itinerary?
Sky tv will be bricking it if another major event drops out their schedules....

He has now admitted it was deliberate and (grudgingly) apologised (even if only in a text).
Most children would get their toys taken away for less, apology or no apology.
The way I understood it was they're hoping to 're negotiate with the new F1 owners as Ecclestone would but nudge on his take or leave it deal.

But that leaves the new F1 owners with a massive problem. Let one do it then all the venues will want a reduction.
They're going to have to balance off the potential drop in support for F1 in the UK (have a word with sponsors to see how acceptable that is) against the other venues wanting a renegotiation too if they let Silverstone get their way.
They bought the whole lot from Ecclestone - now pick the bones out of it.
The sponsors will win to keep interest in the UK.
Perhaps it's something they're expecting and why they're concentrating on the media side of it where Ecclestone never went?

Indeed - quietly shuffle away a couple of £m to keep the sponsors on side. By far the lesser of two evils. No viewers = no revenue = no backers. Bite the commercial side at your own risk.
