Served my time on Vauxhalls of that era.
Would totally agree the Opel Manta was a most tail happy car can't be many of them left now I would imagine.

Stephen.

I had a Mk1 Manta.

Tony.

Yep it had the chrome Manta Ray's.

Tony.

Early Mantas were better built, New prices dropped when the plastic bumper models came out GTE rare, had the 1.9 still fun and tail happy

Fond memories indeed. My dad had a blue 2.0 GTE Berlinetta saloon when I was a kid and it just seemed impossibly cool to me at the time 😍

I don't remember him ever getting it sideways though haha 😇

Back when cars were fun. Or maybe it's just my age ?

Funny, we were talking on this very topic in the office yesterday....

This was my pride and joy back in the day when I was 19, 3.0 litre Capri with a stage 1 head. Sadly a lorry took a dislike to it. The RS Turbo I bought new in 1989 Radiant red with full black leather and silver piping. I wish I had kept them.

This was the car that Sarah learned to drive in 40 years ago it had a steering wheel as big as a tea plate and two speeds stopped and flat out, there would always be dances in village Halls and pubs and barns every weekend .it was like a rally stage to get from one to another usually someone ended on top of a hedge.
