We had these noisy old birds outside the pool cage yesterday, they had been scared round to our side of the lake by a couple of small alligators and when they're scared they make a real loud alarm call.

These are Sand Cranes, also spotted a Turkey Buzzard gliding on the thermals. Not an impressive picture as these birds have 6ft. upwards wing span.

The small 'gators keep well away from people out in the centre of the lake, which is a good thing as that means that they haven't been de-sensitised to humans which could well save their lives!!

Tony.

ps. Not had any pictures of the large turtles which also inhabit the lake yet.

Cranes do make one hell of a lot of noise.
I understand they have been reintroduced to the UK over recent years.

Certainly some diverse wildlife over there Tony.Talking of visitors, has Santa been yet?

On route all being well, question is, have you been a good boy? =))=))

I think so Tony, although Sally may think differently!

Lovely wildlife photos :p
Hope the sand cranes don't make too much noise and wake you up ;)

Well there I was tonight strolling round the pool table feeling pleased with myself when we met, it was strolling along on its 100 or 1000 legs ( I didn't bother to count them!) across from under the table football to the pool table. It was 31/2 to 4 inches long and was evicted out of the front door with "Don't come back!!" ringing in its ears.
