Mine spent its early years in Folkstone and there's superficial rust on lots of parts that would not normally be expected to suffer. Luckily it has been with me for nine years and I'm a long way inland.

It’s still at the garage. Had a gearbox and diff oil change. Just because it’s on 80k and my mate says while it’s on the ramp. Easy to do.

Removed the spare wheel bracket as it was rotten

Never be a 3k car. It needs way to much.

Front bumper got a crack
Heated drivers seat doesn’t heat
Underside full of surface rust
No spare wheel or cradle
No history apart from what I spent
Seats arnt no where near mint
Roofs scrap. Needs changing
Only a 2.2
Still on original suspension so will need changing

That’s off the top of my head o

2k absolute max

Are you just trying to get it through the MOT to sell it?

It will be for sale when I get it back.

I wanted to Change the disks as they looked rusty which has led to a massive bill due to rust.

Nothing wrong with them as they worked fine.

Just not proud to own it

I started off with an almost identical 2.2 non-Sport in Titan but with a blown engine.

It owes me about £3,500. It still needs paint to finish it off so let’s say total outlay of £4,250. It will be worth around £3,250 (hopefully a bit more) when complete.

But I do have a very well sorted car. And I had personal reasons why I needed to finish it.

I would not be confident I could go straight out and spend £3,250 on a better car and not still have £1,000 (or more) of repair work. If I sell it one day someone will get a bargain as it will run and run without issue.

Unless it’s come from a fellow enthusiast and has been gone through already, these cars always need four figures spending on them.

You just have to buy as good as you can afford and have eyes wide open it might still need £2k spent on it. I’m afraid you’ve been mugged like most of us on here.

And I realised long ago there is no money in restoring and selling on these cars. Not unless you buy very cheap and do all the work yourself. Or are prepared to move a car on with known faults and I can’t do that.

So I’m sorry you’ve had such a negative experience. Hopefully better luck next time.

looking one eBay. There’s a few nice looking ones better than mine for the same or less than 2k

So I know I’m in for a huge loss. It’s a good car for cheap money if you only want to fly around in it and not restore or worry go to shows in

I’m just not Proud to own it. So has to go

You describe it as 'only a 2.2'. The six cylinder models are always more desirable than a four cylinder, and the 2.2 is a good compromise between a thirsty 2.8 or 3.0, and a frugal four pot. It's a lovely engine and sounds good too.

As for MPG there is virtually nothing between the 2.0l 2.2l 2.8 and 3.0l
