Yes mate, I am putting a secret opener on itWill you be able to operate it manually in the case of a flat battery (I'm assuming your battery is in the boot too?)

Yes I was conscious of that and actually did it again to make sure it was easy to lift from the bottom.Well done Sean, neat mod. Notice in the video you still used the chrome handle to lift the boot lid? have to get out of that habit?
Thanks brilliant Sean. Fair play to you for your hard work in making this happen.
Oooh that would be a good idea.Slightly updated gas rams my lift the boot lid all the way?
It was a consideration and I found one on ebay for £25 but decided against it as they are still electric and I would have the same issue should the battery go flat.Great work!
Next up, fit a more modern flip-up BMW rounded/handle, to operate the actuator, and use this to hide your secret manual entry

Not sure if this is possible, but somehow fit the old boot key barrel under the flip up emblem/handle?It was a consideration and I found one on ebay for £25 but decided against it as they are still electric and I would have the same issue should the battery go flat.
Great minds and all that but my emergency access is behind the BMW roundelNot sure if this is possible, but somehow fit the old boot key barrel under the flip up emblem/handle?
There are plenty on eBay for £15-20
Search "e87 boot handle"
Must be a big badge! Sticker perhaps?
That will do the trick mate

Don't mean to be the one who asks the stupid question but here goes.
