Yes I was conscious of that and actually did it again to make sure it was easy to lift from the bottom.

It was a consideration and I found one on ebay for £25 but decided against it as they are still electric and I would have the same issue should the battery go flat.

Not sure if this is possible, but somehow fit the old boot key barrel under the flip up emblem/handle?

There are plenty on eBay for £15-20
