A roadster with a luggage rack on the back is just about the coolest thing there is. In my opinion.

To widen the search for anyone wanting the case it had differing versions. It was also made for the MGF/TF and the Rover 75. Both brands owned briefly by BMW so kinda figures.
The differences are:
The BMW case had Z3 moulded into the lid (recessed) but no doubt they also emerged without.

The MG version had a little stick on MG badge by the handle but otherwise the same (but bear in mind the actual rack for the MG is differently shaped).

The Rover 75 had a more squared off flatter top.

Rimmer Bros were selling the cases at one point, not sure if they still do.

I have a Z3 embossed example, a plain example and a MG example. All fit the same rack. Also have the blanking plugs for when the rack is removed in plastic, black metal finish and stainless steel. Managed to obtain a brand new black finish rack with all fitments, still boxed, from a company some years ago for £130. Also have the stainless rack with bootlid and stainless blanking plugs from ebay for £67 a year or two ago. Granted they don't come up often but it's a case of watching.

@Bez was simply expanding on interest from WEZ1963, why people then start decrying the notion of the rack/case arrangement I don't know. If it's not for you then pass on by. Like @Bez I too like collecting genuine BMW accessories and yes I probably am sad. The case does look cool though and is all well made, watertight too!
Thanks Synclare, I am a newbie afterall... and I only have 3 points . Great collection, by the way... very admirable!

The boot rack does look good and, as you say, really adds to the possibility of a longer trek than you get with a boot only (and CD stacker !).
Will be searching ! Thanks for the pics and info.
