I got the manufacturing details of my car from a guy in the States who posted on Reddit site who was able to provide all the details on your car if the VIN was supplied to him. Unfortunately I haven't got any contact details for him as it was over 5 years ago.

There’s production data - how many of each spec/colour and there’s build data - the config for your car.

Build data is easy to find online for a specific car.

Production data is very different. Detailed references by colour exist for Ms. They don’t for non-Ms. Although I do at least have the number of each engine/transmission type produced by market, in fact it includes chassis number ranges too.
