It's done. The stolen/recovered cheap-off-ebay Royal Enfield made it from here to Llyn Efrynwy and back without falling to bits. Or leaking. Just the joy of something that goes chugchugchug up and down hills all day. Lovely. Got a loot of cleaning to do now, though.:baa:baa:baa:rolleyes: Still, mustn't grumble.

Other makes of motorcycle are available.

I don't know anything about motorcycles, never even been on one, but looks like a well engineered bike in fine condition. :thumbsup:

Awesome Mick. Top job.

Tony.

I've had my jalopy for a few years, they are great fun. If you need any info, feel free to ask.
Welcome to the slow lane! You must remember the mantra.. these will run all day at 60, a few times at 70, ONCE at 80!
The main U.K parts supplier is Hitchcocks, but I tend to use an Indian one, Mickey Spares India.

So is that a Classic 350, or some other Royal Enfield? I think the Indian built bikes keep the character and look of the originals quite well.

My own retro toy (now gone), was this:

The 'Bullet', has been built in India since 1962, using British tooling, almost identical to the Redditch design, which was assembled in India since 1955. It is the longest-lived motorcycle design in history.
Alas, Triumph, AJS, BSA, etc. are now just a name, now owned by Chinese, Malaysian, and goodness knows what far eastern countries.

@black fingernail

Yeah, I think my wording wasn't quite right, as I wasn't trying to imply the bikes built in India didn't have actual heritage. My bad. :(

For those interested, it's a 2019 Indian built 500 Classic, no longer made, unfortunately. It'll definitely bumble along at 60, any more may well be pushing things in the direction of disaster. Spares are cheap, if you're prepared to wait for them to turn up from India. Just as an example, all the locks had been trashed when it turned up, a full set of locks (seven altogether ) came out at £31 including postage. Yes, £31. Take that to your friendly neighbourhood BMW stealer. And if I feel the need for speed there's always the VTR1000 that sits next to it.:ymdevil:

I had a 1965 Triumph Tiger Cub once... :)

It was the only way I could guarantee to be able to get the frequently needed new parts for my 1970 MG Midget - daily driver with a penchant for random failures. I sold the bike when crash helmets became compulsory as a helmet would cost more than the bike was worth!

I must say the old style British bikes have a certain style unique to the time. My dad had a Panther combination and later an Ariel Square Four so m/c oil in the family blood passed me by. Nice machine Nefyn cat!

Super.

Tony.
