For anyone who has watched this film
"Final Destination" will understand where I'm coming from.

Last week after leaving the dentist I pulled along side a Citroën Picasso on my near side driving round the island with the Citroën in front we joined the dual carriageway short after the Citroën moved changing lanes forcing me to brake hard before I hit the armco looking in the rear view mirror I braced my self for the rear end crash as the car behind skids towards me. Thankfully stopping in time.

Yesterday my Aunt from Australia wanted to visit Stokesay Castle.

on route I was driving out of Kidderminster heading up a hill on the A456 Bewdley Hill road as a car heading towards me decided to drive across my path to pull into Tesco's Garage. I did an emergency stop skidding towards a crash with a quick change of plan I headed for the other side of the road just as the female driver returned to her side and I managed to over take the car on the wrong side of the road missing it and the kerb.
Driving on and catching my breath I wasn't going to let it upset the day and kept cool with no swearing.

Leaving Stokesay Castle we headed to Bridgnorth town centre for lunch at an English pub and after I took my Aunt for a quick ride up and down

Returing to the car for a drive round the corner to the Severn Valley Railway and the second near crash of the day happen as a woman pulled out of a side road some heavy braking saved the day.

as I drove to Kidderminster Station to pick them up

Leaving there travelling on the A448 heading towards Bromsgrove I noticed a lorry over taking 3 cycles in plenty of time but the car behind decided to follow the lorry by which time we were both heading for each other and again heavy braking and moving over to the kerb we passed each other.

I'm now thinking is death after me !!!

Great pictures Steve, but always remember they walk, and sadly, even drive amongst us! ;)

So you've had a normal day at the office or should we say taste of the Brit drivers of today Low Rider. It seems every time I go out with the wife someone does something real stupid, so now instead of ranting we've decided to point, laugh and shout "NOB HEAD" to each other and carry on as normal. It works for us and because we're now looking for it to happen its making it easier to pre-empt possibly cutting down reaction time.( spose most of you would call it defensive driving:facepalm:) now I enjoy driving the wife cos it's not every day you can look her in he eye and call her a name and just get a smile back=)) try it, works for me cos she don't know if I mean it or not.:blackeye: Lol
Roy.

some days life is like that, seems like everyone is out to get you! try riding a motorbike, even more vulnerable. I gave my brakes a panic stamp today when a myopic van driver decided to drift across the motorway lanes, no surprise he was using his mobile and had his mind on far more profound things than mere driving

You've just reminded me of the very same thing happened on the M40 on the way to Heathrow Airport on Saturday a white van man on his mobile.

Seems you are the only constant in all these scenarios....

as the old saying goes.... "Never had an accident in my life... seen a few"
I asked myself the same question but as in every case I was on my side of the road doing the speed limit and had right of way.

Great photos :p
Be careful ;)

I'm a defensive driver Shelly but I guess one day they'll get me.
Just wish I'd had my dashcam in the Fiesta at the time.

But they cost money !;)

Tony.
Even in cars fitted with them the dope driving clearly doesn't know how to use them. Yet they can talk, text and use instagram/snapchat/twitter/facebook all while driving.

Maybe we could knock up a 200W 800MHz/1800MHz transmitter to put in our cars that would simply drown out the mobile signals for 100m around our cars to stop others from using their phones anywhere close by - "It's a public service your honour...."

And therein lies the problem Ian. Me, our son and his girlfriend got a taxi from Orlando airport a few years ago and the lady drivers was rarely off her phone, either texting, calling etc. At every junction you stop at there will be someone using their phone, and, more often than not it's a woman. How did we ever manage to survive without mobile phones? We were married for four years and expecting our first child before we even had a phone in the house, but that's 36 years ago . . . . . . . . . ;) Life was much simpler though.

Tony.
