Yes - They save it up waiting for the poor guy who goes in to clear it up. They sit there ready to burst until he goes in the shed. Not a pleasant job...Do they only poop twice a week?
I know we’re in the egg trade but when I think of some of the ways chickens are treated I’m sad .The only way we were doing this was if we could give them the best possible time while they are with us but ultimately every part of ours are used.Haven't you already taken several tonnes of this down to Berskhire?
I recall my gran saying about the pigs they kept during the war - the only thing that goes to waste is the squeak. Seems that a similar thing applies to chickens too.
Lot quite they poop on a conveyor belt set up under their feed and roost areas we get 10 ton on a Tuesday and 7.5 on a fri on average the range area that they scratch and roam around in gets cleaned 4 times a year ,it’s a mountain of poopDo they only poop twice a week?
Tis farming. Has always been that way and always will. Thankfully conditions are becoming more and more important to many consumers. I can only imagine happy birds are productive birds.
That’s true for most livestock and I think it’s an urban myth that farmers don’t care about their animals,there will alway be a few but often there’s usually an underlying problem,any farmer that wants to run it as a business makes sure their animals are contented and healthy.
