The turn round bit mentioned and documentary pictured by Moz was down to me leading down the wrong track, and with all those lovely clean Zeds turned around just before the deep mucky Ford.

A new venue and looks to have been a great success, Lots of cars, some old and some new, all bathed in fantastic sunshine. The Zeds all looked great within the mix of other BMW's and as ever Zed owners just the friendliest bunch their is. What a great way to spend a day, Magic.

Just a couple of Pictures from me,

Blistering hot day everywhere today. Looks like a great day for everyone despite the heat.

What's wrong with the box @MAURICE THE MARTIAN ? Simply won't select 5th & 6th?
When was the fluid last changed? Might, with a bit of luck, just be a combination of old fluid and high temperatures. See if it behaves first thing tomorrow. Fingers crossed.
If not, I'd be tempted to find an auto specialist rather than BMW. They will only sell you a new box :(

Warning lite came up and it goes into a sort of limp mode as per handbook
Omg - less than light speed in limp home mode - that must have been a real crisis for you  =))
Sounds like the electronics were taking control. Let's just hope then it's just a sensor playing up. Hopefully it's nothing inside the box itself.

The general consensus from reading posts on this error is that the input shaft speed doesn't match the output shaft speed for the selected ratio. This sounds like either the box is slipping or the electronics are not reading the gear correctly or the speed of the input or output. I guess it depends which sensors it uses to determine the speeds.
Could be the controller itself. It seems BMWs normal response is to re-flash the software in the controller.
