I had a mate who got a job with McLaren on the F1 circuit as an electrician on the set up team.
Sounds glamorous but basically the set up team arrive a week early and install and layout all the facilities, computer terminals etc., and move on to the next one before the team arrives. When racing has finished they go back to break down and so on.(
He thought he was going to be chatting up the pre race totty...I don't think he even saw practising.....
