I hope someone might be able to help you... You might approach 'longlife' stainless steel exhausts and see if they can produce one for your Z3 2.8 and possibly ship it over so you can get your local garage to fit it for you ? Just a thought.

Well if all else fails... You could drive her over here and meet up with the forum members and get your exhaust done at the same time.. Make a long weekend of it.

Yes you will after all this time. Well if you can wait to spring next year.. I will be doing the South Downs 2016 run out. Could be a great time to meet a few of the forum mob too.

Problem with Long Life is they don't have patterns for exhausts, and they build them to the car each time. So they probably won't be able to without having your car...

It's a long way to come. Best bet in France is to get a french petrolhead to recommend a local garage who will be helpful. They do exist !
