When removing my exhaust for the rear end refresh I managed to damage one of the rubber hangers, I thought it would be easily removable but it seems to have been welded on?

I imagine it will have been put on by the company that fit my catback exhaust as it doesn't look OEM.

Are these types of hangers commonly found? Im thinking of taking the beam to a local exhaust centre and ask them to fit a new rubber hanger but not sure if this is something they'd be able to do.

Thanks, my only problem is with the way they've created the metal hanger on the exhaust itself. Even if I do try and bolt the original hanger on, the exhaust won't fit into the original rubber hanger.

Not the best picture but you should be able to see the hanger close to the beam

That's a good shout. I'll have to try and remove the current piece of metal that's on the beam at the moment and see if I can bolt the OE hanger in its place (if it's still available from the dealer).

Thanks for your help pal.

One our resident breakers may have one. You could consider drilling and re-tapping if that plate is welded on. There's a few ways it can be done . The exhaust is generally well supported with 2 hangers on the rear box and the cat section bolted to the gearbox.

Well, I opted for the cheap way out, the company that I had my catback fitted by actually sell the bracket that they fitted to the zed on eBay for about a fiver including postage. The current metal bracket has an M8 bolt so with a hammer and an old screw driver and I was easily able to remove the old bracket.

At least you've got it sorted without spending a small fortune. Everything I touch on the Zed seems to cost more and more every time =))

@Jjim Yeh........... I can relate to that. Tried replacing the shocks a few weeks ago and managed to completely strip the threads on a brand new shock absorber with an impact wrench, £150 mistake, absolutely shocking.
