Exhaust bracket rubber

I have an increasingly annoying rattle that I have scientifically pin pointed to this bracket (by lying under the Z which I couldn’t get up very high and tapping the whole exhaust with a rubber mallet and wondering why I didn’t wear my goggles (of which I own three pairs..)

Luckily I only needed my ear so being blinded and chocking in crud didn’t stop me...

Thankfully this bush doesn’t seem too bad to get at and as my exhaust is a two piece should be ok to do, provided I lift the car higher. It seems the rubber bush slid too far inwards or just collapsed/perished and allowing metal on metal contact which causes a lovely rattle at cruise...

Anyone changed this bush - anything special about it - can’t get a number for it on realoeam but it looks like many other bushes so could get any brand like powerflex etc?

You should be able to get a new rubber from an exhaust fitting outlet, preety standard type of rubber.
You need to stick to a rubber replacemnt as it insulates the exhaust from vibration as well as supporting the exhaust.

I have just changed the rear section but that was the last hanger the exhaust was on. I had to pull the rear section towards the rear of the car to release. However I am sure you can manipulate the rubber hanger off on its own.

The bracket that the rubber attaches to bolts on, check its tight before you buy the rubber as if its loose the new rubber wont cure it...just saying.
