Hi you lovely Zedders!
Right. Problemo. I have a generic aftermarket cat back bolt on straight through back box jobby. Nice sound but it drones like a bi*** on heat at 2k revs. Need to change it but....unsure to what. Ive heard that Supersprints don't drone. Opinions/advice/sound clips and all that please. Mucho ta.

Best advice is go to someone who is willing to adapt your exhaust until you're happy with it. From memory @GazHyde amd @Antm72 both had this service from exhaust companies? It's a big investment so you need to sure it what you can live with Si.

Tony.

I know its big money Tony. Thats why I want the input from fellow Zedders like you m8. Cheers. Si

I had a two box system made to make sure mine wasn't loud. Any sports exhaust will be louder but did not want a drone.
I used Custom Pipes in Doncaster @Bozzy also had his made and fitted there too.

Thanks mate:thumbsup:. I can say from personal experience that Ant's car sounds superb and has no drone.:)

I went to a Long Life dealer and bless him I made 2 return visits (all part of the service) to get the sound right. First attempt was almost OEM, and I wanted some noise! Second attempt was better, but it was the final visit where he made it sound epic (and LOUD).

Got a Supersprint Cat-back stainless steel exhaust on mine, love it, no drone. Not cheap though.

Your car sounds great from outside when I heard it at Goodwood but having a bassy note can give big drone at cruising revs.

The super sprint manages to do bass at low revs and gives a ‘m’like scream at higher revs. With all engines you see to get a spot between 2-3k that can drone - with the super sprint it is bassy in that range but not that ‘make you teeth itch’ drone that you can get!

It’s a great exhaust and mine is around 8-9 yrs old now and as good as new.

However for the price you can get a custom made set up from cat back, maybe even a sports cat in the price. I’ve seen some get dual exits at that price..mmm
Just depends where you go, lots of reccomendations on here.

I think at @yocky z3 2.0 had a really good dual exit made for around £500 or less I believe (may be wrong)
Looks and sounds great.

@Tim beard also has an amazing sounding dual exit on his Kobra - don’t think it was as cheap but really well made and sounds great.

I had a Powerflow custom built stainless exhaust put on mine in May 1997 (guaranteed for life of ownership) by STW Southampton. Replaced the OEM back box. Just a little more noise than OEM, not at all intrusive but sounds well at higher revs. Not cheap at £372 all up, but a quality product.

Hmmmm....now that's close to me, I'm lymington. Was it just the back box you had done?

Great, hope you like. They can do different "loudness" and tail trims to meet your requirements. As I recall, I went for the "quietest" with two tail pipes but they were knowledgeable guys and helpful.:)

Will keep an eye out for you, I drive into New Milton most days.
