love the old term water rat. when i was on phantoms and then lightning in akrotiri we used do a week on water rat duties with the fire crews about every 3 months great fun

That was just being phased out when I joined in 83, a good crack by all accounts.

Stripes do nothing for the car (I added a 3mm red pin stripe on my E89 following the body curve), neither do those.black wheels. That seems to be a craze that has died its death. Bright wheels make a car stand out.

yeah flew in side by side seated lightning we had 2 in cyprus i didnt have a g suit on and my polish pilot though it around left my breakfast on the tarmac after but would do it again in a heart beat dont know what was better that or the uk record eurostar run 205mph across medway bridge great memories

however, my 16yr old lad has applied to RAF and has his interview on 22nd of this month...

wish him all the best for getting into RAF its a great experience and will set him up for life handle that handle anything. did you ever train on the ball breaker parachute training at brize norton please excuse expression but thats what it was called Taz

You mean the indoor (hanger 9 if memory serves me) drop training attached to that overhead framework, where the moment you landed and tried to roll out your ''nuts'' got the full force of the harness.......:whistle:
