(I can then take full advantage of the wifes taxi service back to the hotel on Saturday night).

Try the Travelodge at Battlefield just outside Shrewsbury. About 5 minutes from the meal venue and 20 minutes from the start of the run.

This pub is worth a visit just for the dozens of cartoons of the rich and famous on the walls of the gents toilets. All drawn in fantastic exaggerated detail by the landlord.

Excellent. We plan to be there about 18.30 to sit down around 19.00. Fingers crossed you can make it.

Hi all please be aware that on my last visit to The Dog in the Lane pub where we are meeting on Saturday night a large bomb hole had been worn just through one of the entrances to the car park that could be damaging to our low slung cars. See the attached diagram and be sure to use the entrance I have marked as entrance 1 which is completely flat. If you arrive on the same side of the road as the pub it is your 1st entrance, if you arrive with the pub to your right continue past the entrance No2 to entrance No1.
 
Since lowering mine I’ll be using entrance 1 to ensure I still have an exhaust =))
